As 2024 draws to a close, we find ourselves reflecting on an incredible year of growth, creativity, and, of course, ice! From epic partnerships with our favorite sports teams to a banner year for live ice demonstrations, 2024 has been one to remember. Our team is constantly pushing our creative boundaries, striving to create something fresh and unique for our clients. This year truly reflected that, as we sculpted, carved, and chiseled our way to some of the coolest ice sculptures we’ve ever made.
Walk with us down memory lane, as we recap and review our biggest and best ice sculptures of the year! Plus, we’ll give you a peek at what’s coming in 2025.
A Chill Start: Loop Ice Carnival 2024
We kicked off the year with a return to one of our favorite events: the Loop Ice Carnival in St. Louis. This winter festival is special to us not just because of the spectacular ice displays we get to create, but because our owner, Sean, was one of the original founders of this community event. Over the years, it’s grown exponentially, and this year, we were thrilled to contribute even more unique ice sculptures to help celebrate the carnival as a true St. Louis winter tradition.
Our team sculpted over 40 custom ice sculptures, each representing a local business, and placed them in front of shops along the University City Loop. But that’s not all—this year, we also created four life-sized ice sculptures that served as showpieces throughout the festival. Whether it was a giant ice rendition of Chuck Berry (which was a huge hit with the crowd!) or whimsical winter-themed creations, these sculptures became interactive photo ops that delighted visitors of all ages.
Perhaps the most exciting moment came when Sean performed a live ice carving demonstration, transforming a raw block of ice into an epic snowboarding Yeti, complete with the famed St. Louis Arch behind him. It’s always a joy to engage with the community in this way and show off the magic that happens when chainsaws meet ice. To put the finishing touch on this beauty of a piece, Sean put a real-life bottle of Fitz’s root beer in the Yetis’ hand! We always love incorporating special touches like these to make a sculpture as personal to the demographic as possible.
As we prepare for Loop 2025 by reflecting on 2024, we are reminded how lucky we are to serve the St. Louis community. Speaking of which…
Our 1st St. Louis Anniversary!
This year, we celebrated the 1 year anniversary of our St. Louis shop! St. Louis is Sean’s hometown and our team has been a staple of the Loop Ice Carnival for many years, but Full Spectrum Ice officially opened its doors in St. Louis in 2024. Located in the heart of downtown, we are perfectly positioned to be able to serve our St. Louis clients, no matter which part of town they are in.
To celebrate our shop being open in St. Louis for our first year, we threw a special open house anniversary party!
This was a chance to not only celebrate with our vendor partners and clients, but to show them how the ice is made and give them a sneak peek into some extra special ice designs. The party was Yeti-themed (“Get ‘Yeti’ for Another Cool Year!”) and we pulled out all the stops for it!
We created a life-size Yeti ice bar with bottle holders and a birthday cake luge on top.
We set up an ice graffiti wall with a Yeti wearing a St. Louis sweater, where guests could take a tool and carve their names or an image into the ice. Guests had a blast flexing their creative muscles with this activity and it also made for a truly one-of-a-kind showpiece at the end!
That evening, we also featured a full-size, Yeti-themed ice throne that served as a novelty lounge area for guests. Plus, we had ice cornhole as another engaging activity for everyone! Corn hole is always a crowd pleaser, and we loved putting our own unique spin on the game by creating it in ice.
The open house was a wonderful opportunity to showcase new and exciting ice designs! Everyone walked away inspired for their next event, having just seen truly unique ways to engage attendees and keep them talking about the event long after it’s over.

Swinging for the Fences: Sports Partnerships
It’s no secret that our team loves sports! Throughout 2024, we had the incredible opportunity to partner with some of the most iconic sports teams in the country to create custom ice sculptures that brought an extra layer of excitement to game days.
We were thrilled to work with the University of Texas Longhorns again for their fall season, crafting UT-themed ice bars and seafood displays for every home game. These ice displays served as the perfect backdrop for the Longhorns’ VIP fans to gather and cheer on their team.
Our collaboration with Mizzou also added a cool twist to their events, where we sculpted vibrant, branded ice sculptures that were the talk of the tailgates.
Partnering with the St. Louis Cardinals and Blues was another highlight of our year! We created custom ice sculptures that featured the team logos and iconic imagery. Whether it was a branded ice sculpture or multi-tiered seafood ice tower, these collaborations allowed us to showcase our craft in a fun and interactive way while honoring the spirit of these beloved teams. The energy and enthusiasm of the fans made these projects especially rewarding, and we’re proud to have been part of such memorable moments in the sports world!
Breaking Out the Chainsaw: Live Ice Demonstrations
In 2024, we also had the pleasure of bringing the art of ice carving to life through a variety of live demonstrations that captivated audiences at events in both Austin and St. Louis. From showcasing intricate designs to creating large-scale sculptures right before the eyes of attendees, these demonstrations provided a behind-the-scenes look at our sculpting process. Ice demos are crowd-favorites, especially when Sean pulls out the chainsaw!
Sean had a blast creating various 3D ice sculptures through these demos, including a trio of penguins, a mother polar bear with a cub, and a holiday polar bear.
these live demos allowed our team to connect with the community and share our passion for ice sculpting. Each demonstration was an opportunity to not only create something visually stunning, but also to educate and engage guests. It’s always exciting for guests to see the precision and skill that go into every chisel! They loved getting to see a block of ice be transformed into something extraordinary, and we look forward to even more demo opportunities in 2025!
Coolest Weddings Ever
We would be remiss if we didn’t mention our 2024 wedding couples! Weddings hold a special place in our hearts, as we are always honored to contribute ice to our couples’ biggest days.
This year, we had the privilege of crafting some breathtaking wedding ice sculptures that added both beauty and functionality to the day. Whether it was a monogrammed ice luge, a custom sculpture of the couples’ dog or a special ice seafood display, we love making each wedding unique.
From the design phase to the final chisel, our goal is always to make every couple’s dream come true with ice that’s just as unique as their love story. Are you getting married in 2025? Make sure to reserve your wedding date on our calendar!
